Broken

I took this photograph a few months ago in Miami as
part of the “Broken” series. I remember it was an extremely hot
day, so hot that the water felt like a hot tub. Growing up in Cuba,
I don’t recall ever felling this hot! I had a few people helping me
that day because I wanted to shoot with a large format camera which
made the whole thing so much more difficult. We had a heavy tripod,
films, film holders, light meters, magnifying glass, black cloth to
put over your head, etc..and had to carry all for about 200 feet
from the shore since the water was very shallow and we needed some
depth. My Iphone fell in the water and obviously died. One of the
negatives also “drowned” but when the day was over I was happy with
the results. I finished this series in Lake Michigan, Chicago a few
weeks later.
